• Shannon was born on March 15, 1974 to Vivienne and Robert Abrams. She wasn’t a planned baby and came as a surprise to the superpowered couple. They weren’t prepared or ready to raise a child especially one with superpowers, so they did the responsible thing they could do. They gave Shannon up for adoption, hoping she could have a better family life than they could give her.


• Fortunately, Shannon was adopted when she was four years old by the wealthy Wright family where she was given everything a little girl ever wanted. The Wright family spent years trying to bear a child, but failed in ever path. When they finally decided to go for adoption, they were delighted to take in little Shannon. She became their whole world, but like any indulged child, Shannon quickly became a spoiled brat. She was accustomed to getting everything she wanted and threw violent fits when she didn’t.


• Her power manifested at a young age, around seven years old. She noticed a glowing aura around some people while it was absent in others. Like any child, she initially assumed that it was something everyone could see. It wasn’t she pointed it out to her nanny who didn’t see what she saw that she realized there was something different about her. From that point on, she was determined to figure out what exactly the glowing auras meant and why only certain people had it. When she met other children her age that had it, she would literally force her friendship upon them and demand why they were different. That’s where she began learning that people had special abilities. She also became somewhat upset that her power wasn’t as cool as other people’s.


• Shannon not only has the ability to sense people who have powers, but it has matured to the point where she can categorize the different auras. The auras come in a variety of colors, and she’s learned to organize the closely related shades together. For example, elemental powers typically tend to be in shades of blue while extrasensory perception based powers fall more along the yellow scale. It’s taken her years of practice and experimenting to figure out what colors were what.


• As she grew older, her hedonistic lifestyle did as well. Shannon grew up privileged and found the whole world to be her plaything. It brought her endless amount of amusement to toy with the lives of people around her. Some could almost classify her as a compulsive liar since she enjoys making up rumors and stories about her life or other people. It’s not that she’s doing it for her own benefit. Most of the time she does it because she’s bored or to see how much trouble she can cause.


• Shannon graduated high school with less-than-stellar grades. Fortunately for her, she managed to get accepted into Yale due to her parents’ alum status and their generous donation. The plan was for her to attend and major in pre-law. She was able to stick to it more or less because she found that she thoroughly enjoyed the college experience. She joined the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, throwing herself head-first wholly into the life of partying and living the life of excess. After two years of college, she grew tired of it and decided to drop out of school. She got it in her head that she wanted to become an artist and find herself.


• Shannon actually had no artistic talent whatsoever though she honestly believed she did. In the entirety of her art career, she managed to produce four complete paintings, a half-finished sculpture and a charcoal sketch of a bunny rabbit. Mostly, she enjoyed being an artist for all the ‘methods’ of inspiration.


• She spent a good chunk of twenties floating from one new-fangled career idea to another. Her parents finally had enough of her shenanigans and cut her off. It was either settle down with a serious career or lose all the luxuries she was accustomed to living with. This quickly put a damper on all the fun in her life. After two weeks of stubbornly trying to hold out, she gave in and got a job as a secretary in her father’s office. It was one of the worst periods in her life.


• Her parents died in a car accident when she was twenty-five years old. As their only child, she inherited their entire estate. Shannon who remained mostly on the straight and narrow after her parents put her into place easily slipped back into her vices in her grief. After a few years, she ran out of her means of wealth completely from living excessively. Shannon was penniless and without any real skills. She didn't want to go back to working though she did worked the odd job now and then in order to keep herself from going hungry or homeless.


• Right at the breaking point, an Upsilon recruited her after hearing about her ability. They offered her a place to live and a steady paycheck if she offered them the use of her ability and recruited more members for their group. Shannon, desperate as she was, accepted it without a second thought. She never knew she could use her ability to her advantage, and it sounded like a fairly simple job. Point out who had superpowers and get them to drink the Kool-Aid.


• Shannon still enjoys causing trouble and drama at Upsilon HQ, leaving chaos in her wake. Because of her attitude and tall tales, many of the other members don't particularly care for her. Since she is terrible at combat or defending herself, she's gotten very good at hiding. Most of the time, she's either hiding because she's afraid of getting hurt or she doesn't feel like doing her job. Her wants are simple: alcohol, food, and sleep. Plus the occasional illegal drug or prescription pill. She can spend hours hidden in a spot as long as she's got access to any of the above.
